Literature Text

Queen of White and all that's right
So young, and yet so worn,
Queen of Hearts and Queen of Light
And Wonderland reborn.

Princess Alyss once was lost
And as a Queen was found
To fight a war of which the cost
Is numbered underground.

And through it all, her loyal Knight
Stood bravely by her side,
Helping her through day and night
To find the light inside.

He'd give his life to save his Queen,
He'd fall so she could rise,
He'd give up all he's ever been
Just to meet her eyes.

And, true as truth, he'd lock his heart
And throw away the key,
For though inside he falls apart,
At least his Queen is free.

He can't, or doesn't, want to see
The love for which he yearns,
The way she wishes he was free
To love her in return.
Just a poem I wrote about Alyss and Dodge from Frank Beddor's "Looking Glass Wars" novel(s). I usually don't post poetry, but SOMEONE insisted, and I couldn't refuse *coughRoxcough* =D

It goes along with an AWESOME drawing by my dear friend , which can be found here: [link]
